IKEA embeds wireless chargers for mobile phones and tablets in their furniture series
New IKEA's furniture collection integrates technology for wireless charging of mobile phones and tablets in a beautifully designed and functional furniture like nightstands, lamps and desks. In IKEA stores this collection will be available from April 2015.

This collection for wireless charging is the result of a long-term project that Smart Home IKEA develops for innovative solutions that contribute to a better life at home.

"From research and visits to the homes we spend every year, we know that people are bothered with messy cables. They are worried whether they will succeed to find a charger in time if their battery is drained. Our innovative solutions that integrate wireless chargers in pieces of furniture, make the life at home easier," said Jeanette Skjelmose, Head of lighting and wireless charging in the IKEA of Sweden

New IKEA Collection uses technology that has global Qi standard certification that supports automatic charging of all devices that have a built Qi standard (Google, Nexus, Nokia Lumia, HTC, Samsung). Devices that are not Qi compatible (such as iPhone) can be charged with VITAHULT cover for charging that will also be available in IKEA stores.
